Attending the Career Fair can be an intimidating experience for students. This workshop is intended to help you determine what you is your goal for attending the fair, how to achieve that goal, and includes an opportunity to enter the fair with a group to engage with an employer together.

When we first enter a workplace, we may not have control over the culture and we can learn to advocate for ourselves and needs within the organization. In this workshop, we will explore your workplace values, how those values are nurtured in the workplace, and strategies for advocating for your needs.

Completing an application for graduate school consist of many parts, one of those parts is your Personal Statement. In this workshop, you will understand what admissions is seeking on these statements, how to identify your value/skills/knowledge in a personal statement, and hot to tell your story in a meaningful and authentic way.

Discover the magic of transforming your service/retail industry experience into strong transferable skills that you can add to your resume. In this workshop, you will learn what transferable skills are, why they matter, how to identify them, and how they could help you land your next job. Using what you’ve learned, you will have the opportunity to identify your own transferable skills, enhance your resume, and receive feedback from a career educator.

Discover what is meant by discussing “unwritten rules” of the workplace and develop an awareness of navigating your job environment when you might have no idea how to act at work. Explore the impact of certain narratives in workplace interactions through the Cycle of Socialization lens. The goal of this workshop is to empower you to decode hidden norms and advocate for your current or future needs in your career.
