United in STEMM is a CSU initiative for CSU students of color, regardless of their gender expression or sexual orientation, who interested in careers in science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM). There are many opportunities to get involved on campus, and build community with students, staff, and STEMM employers!
With continuous hard work, enthusiasm to improve my engineering skills and networking with the professors I was able to find a research project that aligned with my interests.
For the past six years I have had a passion for public health and safety, especially within the realms of environmental health and occupational safety. I found my passion through internship opportunities offered by CVMBS.

I worked hard in all of my classes and was accepted into a research lab my sophomore year, but my accomplishments came from persistence and determination. I will now continue on my education in a Masters of Science Program at The University of California, Irvine in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology where I plan to pursue a medical degree afterwards. I hope that students take advantage of the support that CSU provides, and I will always be a RAM at heart!
